Should I count net carbs or total carbs on a ketogenic diet?

Some people believe you can subtract the fiber carbohydrates in the low-carb non-starchy and green leafy vegetables that you eat on keto because the blood sugar response from fiber is slower than sugary, starchy carbs. But while it is a slower response, it’s not no response.

Therefore, in order to be intellectually honest about your personal carb tolerance level while eating keto, you should probably count total carbohydrates. Then there is no doubting exactly how many carbs you can eat on your low-carb, moderate protein, high-fat diet. Stop playing the math games that might be sabotaging your keto lifestyle. Count total carbohydrates and you really can’t go wrong.
