We’ve always been told if you want to lose weight and get healthy, then simply cut your calories. The problem with the calorie theory is it ignores the quality of the calories. 1500 calories from cookies and 1500 calories of steak and vegetables are equivalent under the calorie hypothesis. But they are not the same.

The negative impact of consuming the cookies on your insulin levels as compared with the steak and veggies is stunning. The cookies will make your blood sugar and insulin levels skyrocket while the steak and vegetables will keep them relatively stable.

Calories are naturally controlled when you put your body into a healthy state of nutritional ketosis.
